Welcome, Marc Chesterman
makes sound and music.
He
started out playing drums and making music in rock bands.
These days sampling and working with musicians is central to his work.
Currently living in Wellington, New Zealand.
Showreel video clips now availble via youtube. Audio clips available here.
Now it's 2010 and inbetween
there and here he's given his all to directors making film, theatre,
dance, performance and installation including:
Musically, there's been collaboration with the following music artists:
| John Kennedy | Paul Winstanley | Jeff Henderson | Edward Hanfling | Peter O'Donoghue |
| Simon Lear | Gerard Crewdson | Erika Grant | Janet Holborow | Andrea Tunks |
| Phil Dadson | Killer Ray | Dean Roberts | Lushburger | Sudersuk |
| Steve Abel | Mardi Potter | audible 3 | Sone |
Does he have a philosophy of sound?
That it hits you like thunder or caresses you like a soft wind.
Space is created. Strength. Beauty. Truth.
Other than a year at Whitiriea Polytechnic learning drums and a few guitar lessons
he's
in the 'self-trained' camp. Musically there is a constant phase of developing
techniques
for composing. Analysing scripts and discussion is where we spend careful time
when
developing sonic inspiration for a project. He also gets a great deal of satisfaction
locating
source music to balance or offset original music within a project, there's an
art to that.
